The Grand Hotel Rimini was commissioned to build by
the South American Architect, Paolo Somazzi by the Milan Hotel Society
and was officially inaugurated on July 1st, 1908.In July 1920, a fire
destroyed the hotel and the two decorative domes that sat on the roof
were never fixed up or repaired. Followed by more serious damaged that
took place during the second world war, the building needed serious
restoration.
Federico Fellini loved the Grand Hotel when he was a child, and he even
featured it in many of his films, making it famous world wide. We
remember "Amarcord", where some of the most beautiful scenes of the
hotel were shown in the background.
Even today the guest rooms have that French and Venetian decor from the
XVIII century, with beautiful wood floors, Venetian lamps and original
furnishings.
The restaurant is elegantly decorated with art and objects form the past,
reflecting the important history. In 1994 the Grand Hotel Rimini was
declared an important historical Monument. In 1992 to the side of the
Grand Hotel
Rimini, a congress canter was inaugurated. This modern structure hosts
important international and national events, congresses and gathering
year round. |

The Grand Hotel Rimini represents the perfect lay out
for organising events, congresses or conventions. It is a quiet, green
oasis located very close to the sea. The congress center of the Grand
Hotel Rimini was built in 1992, and has been completely redone in the
year 2003. Here guests will find 14 modular, multi functional rooms that
are distributed between the Congress center and the Grand Hotel itself,
making it possible to host as many as 900 people! |
The Hotel reserves the right to assign the room(s) at the Grand Hotel Rimini (main building) or at the Residenza Grand Hotel Rimini (annexe). Should you have special requirements and prefer one location instead of the other, please contact the booking office.
